Hi,

We are trying to set up profiles in user accounts to pre fill form data in a few different situations.

One is to have user accounts that log in under one portal for example called "Electricians", who will access a hand full of forms and submit them on a regular basis. As they are going to submit forms frequently, we are hoping to pre fill the form with some profile property fields data. These will be name, contact number, and a newly made profile property called "electricians licence number".

We have set this up and it works, but for people who aren't electricians that what to log into a different portal they are presented in their profile a field called "electricians licence number" which is not applicable to them. It would be too much to go through and manually edit each user account to have certain profile properties.

Is there a way we can easily achieve what we are hoping to do? Being that some accounts have the licence number profile property and some not?

Don

EDIT: Also, we were wanting to know what the intended purpose of the profiles and multiple profiles were. For myself, I can see the use of a business account having different profiles for different areas of the business (Names and contacts for different contractors). But for every day users multiple profiles may not be needed. Hoping to get more of an idea of them as we are hoping to use them if we can. Thanks

    Hi Don,
Create a new profile e.g. Electricians profile. This will contain all the fields that exist in the default profile (in the screenshot below, the default is 'My Profile').

Open up 'My Profile' and delete the property 'electricians licence number'.
Assign the new profile to all electricians as their default.

    Thanks for the response Chantal.
We played around with profiles last week, and found that creating, deleting and editing profiles are on a per user account basis.
If following the steps above, every other existing account in the system would still have the "electricians licence number" property in their profile as deleting it from "My Profile" only deletes it for that user. We would also need to go into every account and repeat the steps as the newly created profile only exists for the current user account. Is there away we can create a profile and assign it to multiple accounts?

      Hi Don,
Unfortunately there isn't a way to create a profile and assign it to multiple accounts.
