What happens to a form in flight, when a form is updated to include a new version (and made current).
I assume that the XML is bound to the version, and that the old form version will always be rendered upon resume. Is this true also for collaboration jobs (review and approval).
Is there anything that can be done to upgrade transactions in flight to the new version (in a controled maner)?
This is an enhancement that has been implemented into 5.1
AS IS Transact 5.0 and below
Use the currently active form version and current active service.
Let say a form had version 1.0. A form is opened and submitted in version 1.0. However while the form was being filled out a new version 2.0 that had additional fields was added and is now the current version.
When the Job creates the review task it would use form version 2.0.
TO BE Transact 5.1
Enables the Form and Job Action service versions to be specified in the Job Definition.
If a form code and version are not specified for a Review tasks will automatically get the same form code and version from the previous submission.
